Kerry K. Kuehn

The following students have been members of my research group or have been physics major and minors. I do not guarantee that any of this is completely up-to-date, so if you see your name on this list (or it should be!), please email me with corrections and updates!

Sean Grady (physics major, 2018-present). Sean is currently pursing a major in physics. He recently was awarded the Kepler Scholarship, which is awarded to one student each year at the College.

Joshua Eickhoff (physics major, 2014 - 2018). Josh graduated from the College in 2018 with a double major in physics and chemistry. He did work in the physics labs characterizing the optical properties of soap films using a refractometer. He works in the Chemistry and Metallurgy lab at Kohler Company.

Elise Sloey (research assistant and physics minor). Elise graduated from the College in 2018 with a major in biochemistry and a minor in physics. She did extensive work in the physics research lab designing, building and testing a piece of scientific equipment to study the hydrodynamics of thin soap films. She is enrolled it the Ph.D. program in Biological and Biomedical Sciences at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Amelia Lauth (research assistant). Amelia is a biochemistry major. She is working, along with Elise Sloey, on studying the hydrodynamics of soap films in the fluid dynamics laboratories at the College. She is currently a summer research intern at the Universit of Iowa.

Micah Jahns (physics minor, 2014-2018) graduated from the College in 2018 with a major in chemistry and a minor in physics. He currently works at Masterson Company in Milwaukee.

Caleb Tomlin (research assistant and physics minor). Caleb graduated from the College in 2018 with a major in computer science and minors in both physics and computer science. He worked in my physics research laboratory to design, build and test a piece of scientific equipment to study the hydrodynamics of thin soap films. He is currently an Associate Software Engineer at Kohl's.

Ethan Jahns (physics major, 2013-2015). Graduated from the College in 2016 with a major in physics and mathematics. Ethan worked in my research lab building an interferometer for charged particle detection. Ethan is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Jessica Lembke (physics minor, 2012-2015) graduated from the College in 2015 with a major in mathematics and a minor in physics. She currently works as a Software Developer at Milliman. She also teaches our children to play the piano! Jess was recently accepted into the graduate program in computer science at the University of Syracuse.

Allee Klug (physics minor, 2012-2016). Allee recently graduated from the College in 2016 with a major in Chemistry and a minor in physics. She is currently in the doctoral program at Colorado State where she is studying structure-property relationships of hydrogel networks and thermoplastic elastomers.

Cody Morse (physics major, 2013-2015)graduated from the College in 2016 with majors in physics and computer science. He did extensive work on text-processing using google's N-gram databases, and did a senior research project in which he measured Boltzmann's constant by imaging Brownian Motion of suspended microspheres. After working for GE power systems, Cody now works as a software engineer for Pierce County in Tacoma, Washington.

Evan Witz (physics minor, 2012-2015) graduated from WLC with a major in mathematics and a minor in physics, and is now pursuing a doctorate in quantitative finance at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts.

Dylan Applin (undergraduate research assistant, 2011-2012). Graduated from WLC with a major in biochemistry. Dylan was a research and editorial assistant when I was preparing my recently published book. He is currently enrolled in the MD program at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Samuel Wiepking (undergraduate research assistant, 2012-2016). Sam earned a major in computer science and a minor in physics at the College, graduating in 2016. He is currently working as a Lidar Data Processor at Continental Mapping Consultants in Madison.

Stephanie Kriewall (undergraduate research assistant, 2011-2012): Finished a master’s program in statistics at University of Iowa. Stephanie currently works as a Mathematical Analyst at Gaming Laboratories International in Denver.

Jaymee Martin-Schnell (physics major, 2010-2013). Jaymee went on to earn a Master’s degree in the history and philosophy of science at the University of Indiana and then a Master's degree in Transition to Teaching.

Jonas Gertsch (physics major, 2010-2012). The last we heard: graduated from WLC with a double major in chemistry and physics. Currently enrolled in the Ph.D. program in physical chemistry at UC Boulder.

Tim Kriewall (physics major, 2010-present). Graduated from WLC with majors in physics, mathematics and computer science. Currently working as an Associate Software Engineer at Apex Learning in Seattle.

Tyler Zehfus (physics minor, 2009-2011). The last we heard: graduated with a major in mathematics and a minor in physics from WLC.

Matthew Flister (physics minor, 2009-2010). The last we heard: Matt is working as a Systems Administrator in Milwaukee.

Heidi Harris (physics minor, 2009-2010). The last we heard: working toward a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Marquette University.

Jhonathan Rosales (physics minor, 2009-2011). The last we hear: working toward a master’s degree in nuclear engineering at the University of Florida.

Caitlin Ristow (undergraduate research assistant, 2010-present, and physics minor, 2008-present). The last we heard: working on PC systems for Epic, a private software company in Madison which provides software for the health care industry.

Matthew Moeller (undergraduate research assistant, 2008-2009). The last we heard: graduated from WLC with a Bachelor of Science degree and a major in Business/Economics. He currently works in AVP Client Services at Well Fargo Funds Distributers, LLC

Mike Schulz (undergraduate research assistant, 2006-2008). The last we heard: a software engineer at Teramedica, Inc., in Milwaukee, WI.

Jonas Leyrer (physics minor, 2005-2008). The last we heard: graduated from WLC with a Bachelor of Science degree, a major in English, and a minor in physics in 2008.

Dan Sanfelippo (undergraduate research assistant, 2006-2007). The last we heard: Dan works as a Quality Control Analyst at Merz North America, Inc

Jonathan Polfer (undergraduate research assistant, 2004-2007). The last we heard: John is working a software consultant for A Bit Above, LLC, in Brookfield, WI.

Joanna Furno (undergraduate research assistant, 2005-2007). The last we heard, Joanna earned a Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She currently works as a Research Associate and Lecturer at the University of Houston.

Nathan Finke (undergraduate research assistant, 2005). The last we heard: Nathan earned a graduate degree from the Department of Mathematics at The College of William and Mary. He is now an Application Developer Senior Specialist in Actuarial Systems at Northwestern Mutual in Greendale, WI.

Michael Poston (physics minor, 2001-2004). The last we heard: Michael earned a Ph.D. from the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is now a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Europa Science Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
